Hello March 💖🌷

New Beginnings

March is a special month to me.   It is the third month of the year but signifies a new beginning in so many lovely ways.

March is the busiest birthday month of the year in our family, and so it is full of celebrations including International Womens'  Day and St. Patricks' Day.   March welcomes spring, daylight savings time, we begin to peel layers back in our clothing, opting for brighter colors, lighter more freeing fabrics, a fresh handbag, that perfect trench coat that screams chic Brit, and clean happy perfumes.

In our homes we lighten our decor, burn lemon or white paper musk candles, opt for minimalist decor that is so much more, and this is a time we live in the present.  Nothing is overwhelming, the holidays, as fabulous as they are, are behind us or at least ten months away where we merrily return our homes into a Christmas Wonderland.  There is simple elegance and beauty in a clear vase of fresh white roses on a burlap runner and nothing more.  Window treatments swapped for sheer linen that sways as fresh air blows through the house.  This is everything, a fresh awakening.

We are returning to outside, mimosas under the gazebo, nature walks, bike rides, eyeing the backyard for garden and rose plans, it doesn't matter that for the fourth year it won't get done but it is so soothing to plan it, visualize it and knowing that even if you plant just a piece that is okay. Life is to be lived, and March if any month, is a great example as trees have the tiniest little green knubs just waiting for the weather to break so they bloom.

"If March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb."  Unless you live in Michigan, Lions and Lambs tango all month long, and that my friend is why I adore March, for its perfect mood weather.  When Lions lead, we spring clean, and when Lambs lead, we are out in nature.
